Caption #1: The City Drugstore on the corner of Lynn and State streets.
Caption #2: E.M. Everling in front of his store.
This week's first picture comes from the corner of Lynn and State streets.
The corner store is the City Drug Store owned and operated by C. S. Voorhees.
The store carried a full line of prescriptions, toiletry articles, stationary, cigars, confectionary and paint.
They served ice cream and also had a soda fountain. Located in the back of the building was the American Express office.
Looking close on the left side of the building one can see the bell steeple on the old Methodist Church.
Next door, our second pictures is of Mr. Edward Everling in front of his bowling and pool room.
Mr. Everling is noted as being one of the most expert woodworkers in this part of Michigan.
Mr. Everling was in full charge of the wood turning department for Lobdell & Bailey Mfg. Co.
From the beginning of Mr. Everling locating here, his store carried a full line of cigars and confectionary. Note the absence of streetlights and pavement.
